The University of Cantabria has been offering summer courses on surfing since 2011 (“Surfing: new emerging tourism industry”).

The municipality promotes certified courses and training in partnership with:

• Cantabrian Surf Federation – training and certification of coaches;

• CEIP Latas School – European educational exchange (WAVES LINK AND TEACH).

The Somo Surf Center hosts seminars, workshops and programs on safety, health, sustainability and innovation in surfing.
