SURF CARE

In 2015, in collaboration with the Cantabrian Surfing Federation, the Cantabrian Adapted Surfing Program was created, a pioneering initiative at the national level.

The municipality also participates in several European and local projects:

• INCLUSEA (2021–2023) – development of a European methodology for adapted surf teaching;

• Enjoy the Sea – a therapeutic program for children with intellectual disabilities; https://disfrutarelmar.org/

• SILVER WAVES (2023) – an initiative that promotes active aging through water sports.

Thanks to these actions, Ribamontán al Mar is recognized as a model of sustainable and inclusive tourism, and is invited to present its work at international conferences and universities.
