LACANAU

Lacanau is a land of innovation: Waveski , the French Stand Up Paddle Championship (Bordeaux and Lacanau), and tandem surfing (with two world champions, Rico Leroy and Sara Burel).

Furthermore, it included in its local urban plan ("PLU"), voted on in 2017, an area dedicated to innovation, gliding , and digital technology, which will be located at the entrance to the city and is intended to host an artificial wave project.

Additionally, to ensure athletes can practice their sport safely, a health project is being developed in Moutchic (near Lake Lacanau), which will involve various health professionals whose role will be not only to assist athletes but also to rehabilitate them.

Lacanau boasts a magnificent community of instructors who work in both classic and innovative ways with all the materials available on site, and it was also the location of the Aleeda wetsuit production factory during its early years in the European surf industry.
