INTEREST
El Alto has expressed a strong interest in joining the World Surf Cities Network (WSCN), with the aim of strengthening its identity as a surfing city committed to sustainability, wave protection and balanced territorial development.
The city seeks to use surfing as a strategic tool to promote social, cultural and economic development, while ensuring the preservation of its natural resources. Joining the WSCN represents an opportunity to share best practices, strengthen coastal governance and consolidate policies aligned with the legal protection of waves, within the framework of Peruvian legislation.
It also aims to strengthen international cooperation, learn from other coastal cities and actively contribute to a global network that promotes surfing as an element of identity, inclusion and sustainable development.
