OLAS IN SAN BARTOLO
San Bartolo is characterized by having waves on the following beaches:
Curayacu Beach
Playa or South Bay: Isla, Fisherman's Muelle and Punta Bufadero
Playa or North Bay: First Pier, Second Pier and Peñascal
NATURAL SITE: El Bufadero
The San Bartolo Blowhole is a natural wonder located in Lima, Peru, that is often overlooked compared to other famous blowholes around the world. The name "bufadero" comes from the sound an angry animal makes, as the water running through the rocky groove sounds like a snort that can be heard from a distance. This geological formation is a natural chimney found in volcanic cliffs that leads to a cavity called an abyss.
The Bufadero de San Bartolo is a special place that offers visitors a breathtaking view of the two bays of the coastal district. During high tide, the water crashes against the cliffs and rises up the chimney, producing a geyser and a characteristic sound. The force of the water spray can reach 40 meters, making it a natural spectacle worth seeing. As locals, we are proud of this special place and consider it our home. Visitors can come and witness this unique natural wonder at any time of day.
