MAR DEL PLATA

INNOVATION

Participation in this type of network promotes innovation through cultural, sporting, and tourism exchange, while also contributing to the national and international promotion of Mar del Plata as a surfing destination, thus improving the destination's tourism competitiveness.

It is expected that, by being part of the network, the organization of sporting and social events will be enhanced, increasing the number of developing and high-performance athletes. By promoting inclusion, cultural exchange with athletes and coaches from other countries will be achieved.

Although Mar del Plata has extensive expertise in various types of tourism (recreation, holidays, congresses and conferences, sporting events, cultural events—such as the International Film Festival, national and international shows, etc.), the focus on surfing allows us to understand that all tourism activity is enhanced and updated. Accommodation, gastronomy, beach services, related commercial activity—all of this is encouraged by its relevance to the world of surfing.

INNOVATION CASES

It is noteworthy that the topic of surfing has been addressed by students at the National University of Mar del Plata in their undergraduate theses.

Both at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (Bachelor's Degree in Tourism) and at the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design (Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design), there is a clear interest in the subject, with related projects being undertaken.
