SALINAS

INNOVATION

Salinas , as one of the main destinations on the Ecuadorian coast, attracts visitors who fall in love with its spirit and natural surroundings, many of whom decide to stay in the city. This phenomenon has given rise to a multicultural society and a diverse offering that has been renewed in various areas, including gastronomy, with restaurants that combine creative proposals and quality local products.

The Municipality of Salinas, in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, has developed projects and workshops related to safety and reception protocols, both for tourism professionals and for the police forces operating in the region. These initiatives have been considered innovative and have inspired other tourist destinations in the country.

The growth of surf tourism has driven new activities and investments, most notably the revitalization of nightlife, which has gained national and international relevance and attracted a growing number of foreign visitors.

Among the most significant advancements is the Wave Protection Law, a regulatory milestone that guarantees the preservation of the natural conditions of the waves and protects one of the city's main resources. This legislation places Salinas at the forefront of innovation in the surfing sector, serving as an example for other coastal regions in Latin America.
