SURF CARE
SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENT
The city is home to the headquarters of the NGO Surfrider Foundation Argentina, a community whose purpose and mission is the protection, rehabilitation, and restoration of the diverse ecosystems of the Argentine sea and river basins.
This NGO has the support of the Argentine Surf Association (ASA), as it is the organization responsible for preserving the natural environments where waves are used as a recreational resource | https://surfrider.org.ar/ | https://www.instagram.com/surfriderargentina/ .
This and other NGOs frequently organize beach and coastal clean-up campaigns, aiming not only to promote hygiene but also to raise community awareness about the impacts of waste on the natural environment.
In turn, the private sector is involved in environmental care through the implementation of the MINTURDEP Environmental Management Guidelines Program. Several spas have been recognized for their work in sustainability:
Biology Surf Club
Portofino Spa
Prince Beach Resort
Saint Michel Spa
La Reina Club Resort
Alfonsina Spa
Balneário Bahía Varese
Uthgra del Mar Resort
