Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 's interest in the World Surf Cities Network focuses on the following strategic pillars:

• To inform, raise awareness, share, learn and communicate the benefits of surfing as a driver of sustainable socio-economic development.

• Development of sustainable management models related to surfing, beaches and their value chain, as well as the planning, management and execution of strategies for adapting to climate change.

• Innovation, digitalization, and accessibility linked to surfing, its infrastructure, and the entire value chain, both public and private.

• Promoting and consolidating inclusive and adapted surfing as a driver of social cohesion for our citizenship, in collaboration with other cities.

• Exploring and planning events, exchanges between cities, seminars or shared training activities , and any initiative that results in the general interest of the city linked to surfing.

• Raising and managing grant funds from public and private institutions for the aforementioned purposes.

• Collaboration with international institutions through WSCN for common purposes.

• Collaboration with other cities in the WSCN network for common goals.
