In Ericeira , surfing is part of the local culture, economy, and way of life by the sea. Our interest stems from continuing to grow sustainably, preserving the coastline and the quality of the waves that made us the first World Surfing Reserve in Europe.

This path is being forged jointly by the Mafra City Council, the Ericeira Surf Club, various institutions, and the community itself, who work side-by-side to train athletes, organize competitions, promote social inclusion, boost tourism, and strengthen the economy linked to the sea.

We want Ericeira to be recognized not only for its excellent waves, but also as an example of balance between tradition and innovation, nature and community. Our commitment is to ensure that surfing continues to generate opportunities, unite people, and project Ericeira as a world-renowned World Surf City .
